Terms of Use
Last updated Oct 17, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Soap Workbench, LLC, a Florida limited liability company ("we" or "us"), for your use of Soap Workbench (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to them. If you use the Service for a business, you agree for that business too.
1. Who can use it
You must be at least 18 years old and able to make a binding agreement to use the Service. The Service is for running a business and isn't meant for children; don't invite or enter anyone under 18 as a user.
2. A free test version, with no fees
The Service is an early test version offered free of charge. Anyone 18 or older can sign up and use all of it, including Sales and Bookkeeping, and anyone 18 or older can use the lye calculator without an account (these Terms apply to that use too). There are no fees, subscriptions, or charges, and we don't ask for a card, so there is nothing to refund. If we ever decide to charge, we'll tell you the price before it applies and you can choose whether to continue; nothing will be charged without your clear agreement.
Features may change, break, or be removed, and we may suspend or end the Service or your access at any time. We will try to give notice and a chance to export your data, but we don't promise to. Keep your own copies of anything important; Settings has an export.
3. A record-keeping tool, not professional advice
The Service helps you keep records and do arithmetic. It does not give tax, accounting, legal, financial, regulatory, medical or safety advice, and nothing in it is a substitute for a qualified professional. You are responsible for your books, your tax filings, your sales tax, and every decision you make using the Service. Have a qualified professional review anything that matters.
Recipe, lye, and formulation numbers are calculations from published reference data and the values you enter. Raw materials vary, and reference values can be wrong. You are responsible for checking every calculation, following safe handling practices for sodium and potassium hydroxide, and making sure your products and labels meet the laws that apply to you, including cosmetic and labeling rules.
4. Your data
You own the data you put in. You give us permission to store, process, and display it only as needed to run the Service for you. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter or import, for having the right to share it, and for the people you invite to your business. Sales data is read from other services only with your permission and we never take payments or move money.
5. Acceptable use
Don't misuse the Service: no unlawful use, no attempts to reach other people's data, no interfering with the Service, and no reselling it. Keep your password (and your Google account, if you sign in with Google) safe; you are responsible for activity under your account.
6. No warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that it will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted, or that data won't be lost.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Soap Workbench, LLC and its members, managers, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, tax penalties, or interest, or product liability claims, arising from or related to the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, or fifty U.S. dollars.
8. Indemnity
You will defend and hold us harmless from claims by others arising from your products, your business, your data, or your breach of these terms.
9. Changes and ending
We may update these terms. When we do, we'll change the date above and ask you to accept them again before you continue. You can stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your account from Settings, as the Privacy Policy describes. If nobody uses your account for 6 months, we'll email you before deleting it, and you can keep it by signing in, as the Privacy Policy describes.
10. Law and disputes
Florida law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction. If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies.
